First Visit to
Douglas Baptist Church
WHAT TO EXPECT
.jpg)
Our Sunday morning gatherings are relaxed and informal. So wear whatever feels comfortable to you.
You will see adults and kids of all ages, and hear local accents as well as accents from all over the world. We truly are a diverse group of people, with all sorts of spiritual backgrounds.
You may see people arrive with their Bibles. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Bible, it’s not necessary to have one for the service. (You can learn more about our beliefs about the Bible in the About us section).
LOCATION
Douglas Baptist Church (DBC) meets in Douglas Community School. You will enter the school carpark from Clermont Avenue. The carpark will have plenty of spaces for parking. You should see a sign for our church at the entrance to the school.
When you enter the school - the hall will lead you directly to the canteen area - this is where we hold our Sunday service.

TIME AND ORDER OF SERVICE

Our Sunday service starts at 11am and usually lasts around 90 minutes.
We start with a time of singing worship songs (listen to the type of songs we sing via our playlists on Spotify or Youtube).
We also have a time for prayer, church announcements, the Lord’s Supper, and the weekly sermon (you can listen to our previous sermons).
At the end of our service, we serve tea and coffee for everyone. You are most welcome to stay and enjoy some refreshments with us. Come say hello to whoever is preaching that day. We really do want to extend a very warm welcome to you!
KIDS AND BABIES

We have a crèche for babies and toddlers, and a kids club for children of primary school age. Kids and babies will stay with you until the time of singing is finished at the start of the service. Then you can bring them out to the crèche or classroom.
OUR OTHER CHURCH ACTIVITIES
